Laurentian University

Calling All Change-makers, “It’s all here”

A Springboard Education for Future Global Leaders

“Our mission is to prepare our students for global leadership,” said Laurentian University Dean of the Faculty of Management, Dr. Stephen Havlovic. The university’s 172 programs are offered in French and English with some exceptions, and a strong First Nations and aboriginal teachings presence celebrates Laurentian’s tri-cultural mandate.

This mid-sized university in Sudbury, Ontario represents the quintessential Canadian educational experience. Approximately 8% of the 9,000 students who make Laurentian University their academic home hail from other countries. Many are drawn by the low student to faculty ratio (18:1), excellent post-graduation employability rankings, and the safe and welcoming campus surrounded by natural beauty.

Innovating in Business Education

The updated Bachelor of Business Administration program offers optional specializations in accounting, finance, operations management, marketing, management, entrepreneurship, international business, and human resources. The BBA and Sports Administration degree programs are accredited by the distinguished European Foundation of Management Development.

Students also benefit from a well-developed network of internships, co-op programs, and business associations. At the MBA level, this also includes a capstone consulting project with local companies or companies chosen by the student.

Investing in Excellence

A recent investment of $160 million has allowed for the upgrade of the university’s physical infrastructure and a systems-wide tech advancement. New state-of-the-art laboratories are a testament to the institution’s research commitments.

An Indigenous Sharing and Learning Centre, opening June 21, 2017, will be a hub for the university’s Indigenous community as well as a bridge to the broader community.

Building Partnerships

The Faculty of Management maintains study abroad partnerships with universities in Belgium, China, Croatia, France, and Mexico with relationships also developing in India and South Korea. Laurentian also participates in the Ontario Universities International program which provides study abroad exchange opportunities.
